Your little ones are home now and looking to be entertained. With a few supplies, you can get started on these super easy Christmas crafts today!

Reindeer Plate

Supplies needed: paper plate, brown paint, brown construction paper, scissors, pencil, glue, googly eyes (optional), black marker, red pom pom (optional)

Directions:  Trace child’s hand on brown paper and cut out. Put to the side for now. Paint the plate brown and let dry. Attach hands to top of plate to use as antlers for the reindeer. Attach googly eyes, red pom pom for the nose, and draw a smile using your black marker. You could also use pipe cleaner to create a smile.

Marshmallow Snowman

Supplies Needed:  construction paper, black marker, glue, & mini marshmallows.

Directions:  Draw circles on the construction paper to create a snowman…starting with a small circle then medium and finally a large circle. Draw a hat and whatever other features you’d like the snowman to have. Place a dot of glue along the black line of the circle and allow your child to line the circles with marshmallows. This is a good activity for fine motor skills and also requires concentration and focus. Be sure your child doesn’t eat all the marshmallows!

Canvas Photo Frame

Supplies Needed:  Canvas photo frame (I got mine from Michael’s), shades of red and green paint (or whatever colors you prefer), dot paint sponges (from Michael’s), picture of your child

Directions: Squeeze out various colors of the paint and allow your child to “dot paint” the canvas. Insert image of your child. Write your child’s name and date at the bottom or on the back and now you have a keepsake to pull out every year. I love this! There are so many options of what you can do with it!

Paper Strip Tree

Supplies Needed:  red construction paper, green construction, brown paper for tree trunk, star for tree, glue

Directions:  Cut strips of paper and then cut the edges so the strips are various lengths. Talk with your child about “longest and shortest” and glue the strips to the paper starting with the shortest. Place the tree trunk at the bottom and the star on top.

Popsicle Stick Ornament

Supplies Needed:  3 popsicle sticks, green paint, glue, brown square for tree trunk, pipe cleaner (or yarn), stickers to decorate ornament

Directions:  Paint popsicle sticks green and let dry. Form sticks into a triangle shape and glue tree trunk to bottom. Decorate tree with stickers. Add pipe cleaner to top to hold ornament on tree.

These are just 4 of the thousands of Christmas crafts you could do! You probably know by now, I like to keep crafts basic most of the time. I also like to do the same crafts from previous years because it’s so interesting see what a difference a year makes. One year you may have to help your child tons, and then the next, he/ she might breeze through it independently. That's when you add new ones to the mix!

Do you have any favorite Christmas crafts? Please share if you do! J
